JOSH RAPER

 HAPPIEST WHEN OUTDOORS

Having grown up on the edge of the chalky hills of the South Downs National Park, I’ve always had a passion for the outdoors and a sense of adventure and exploration. Having graduated from Marine & Natural History Photography at Falmouth university in 2016, I moved away from the world of wildlife and began producing more outdoor and adventure focused content for brands and adventurers, as well as developing skills in expedition logistics and management. This has involved helping expeditions operate in challenging conditions in places such as Honduras, Borneo and Sri Lanka.

When my life was lacking adventure and the sense of purpose, I took the plunge and went self-employed, and I’ve never looked back since. I love being able to have the time to connect with likeminded individuals and businesses who have the same ethos as I do. Not only enjoying the adventure, but doing it sustainably and giving back to the planet where possible.

I try not to forget my roots back when I was a wildlife photographer, where this journey began.

Whether its shooting to a brief or working independently, my main mission is to shoot content in its purest form. Whether it's documenting an adventure or expedition, a brand campaign or your own personal story, you won’t see me shooting from the sidelines. I like to get my hands dirty and be in the middle of the action, interacting with those around me. It’s not unusual to find me swimming with the camera, chasing bikes down trails or scrambling to get the perfect shot. That’s all part of capturing the raw story.  

With social media audience demands ever changing and mixed media campaigns now being the norm, I have the skills and equipment allowing me to shoot both stills and video. I also have the qualifications in place to pilot any drone under 250g and to perform commercial arial photography and video operations.  

Having worked in a whole range of environments and challenging conditions I’m happy working in any weather and location whether that’s on land, sea or in the air. So if you have a story to tell, brand to promote or expedition to execute, get in touch and let’s see how we can work together.

With expedition management experience in challenging environments, as well as undertaking TV production assistant roles on location, I can assist in the smooth execution on your next big project.
